Hot Side Of Heaven Entry 002: The Thermostat Incident

Nobody tells you what happens when a goddess enters menopause.

They tell you about wisdom.

They tell you about grace.

they tell you about embracing a new season of life.

They do not tell you that one hot flash can change the climate of an entire celestial realm.

It started at 2:47 in the afternoon.

I was minding my own business when suddenly the temperature went from pleasantly eternal to surface of the sun.

Naturally, I went to the thermostat.

someone had set it to 72.

Seventy-two.

I lowered it to 64.

An angel changed it back again.

There are now eleven commandments.

Apparently, thou shalt not touch her thermostat needed to be written down.

By sunset, three clouds had been converted into cooling stations, the cherubs were passing out handheld fans, and somebody suggested I "dress in layers."

We don't know where that person is now.

So if you've wondered why a perfectly normal room suddenly feels approximately 400 degrees for absolutely no reason...
